Earlier this month, hundreds of young people gathered on the steps of the Capitol for Youth Justice Day. They joined with Governor John Bel Edwards in calling on the legislature to pass SB 324 — Raise the Age Louisiana Act — to include 17-year-olds in the juvenile justice system, holding kids accountable in age-appropriate settings.
The Senate Judiciary B Committee heard their calls, and unanimously passed SB 324. Now, the bill is headed to the Senate floor for its next vote. We need your help in telling senators to vote YES on SB 324. You can make a difference in the following ways:
