On October 2, the citizens of New Orleans will vote on an amendment to the Home Rule Charter to create a model for New Orleans recreation.

Learn firsthand from city leaders and members of the New Orleans Recreation Citizens Advisory Panel (NORD CAP) the tremendous impact this vote will have on the youth of our city. The proposed NORD Reform would create the New Orleans Recreation Development Commission, a public private partnership to provide for increased resources for recreational services for citizens of all ages. Council President Arnie Fielkow is among those leading the important effort for our city:

“Offering activities to New Orleans area youth and our seniors is our duty as a city. Not only does recreation help our kids develop outside the classroom, but also keeps them occupied and out of trouble. In effect, improving NORD is like taking a daily vitamin. It is preventative care for our kids. It is an investment in their future.”
